Applications for the NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards are now open!
Our local community could not function without them, they are the lifeblood of our schools, sports organisations, neighbourhood events, our welfare and arts organisations- they are the VOLUNTEERS who make your local district tick.
The NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards is an opportunity to acknowledge the dedicated behind-the- scenes people who contribute freely so that we all flourish.
Now in their eleventh year, the 2017 NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards are organised by The Centre for Volunteering, the peak body for volunteering in NSW. There are 20 regional award ceremonies throughout NSW from August to September, where all nominees are acknowledged with a certificate. Regional finalists are invited to a State Awards ceremony in December to coincide with the United Nations International Volunteers Day (December 5).
But volunteers won’t be eligible to receive their due if someone does not nominate them. We invite you to nominate volunteers within your workplace and your community whom you would like to honour and acknowledge locally, with the potential for them to receive state wide recognition.
The deadline for nominations is Friday July 14. Nominations for Volunteer of the Year can be made online at www.volunteering.com.au. See below for categories.
There are 7 award categories:
