Ms JODI McKAY ( Strathfield ) ( 17:02 ): I bring to the attention of the House the 150-year celebration of Rosebank College, Five Dock. The college was founded in 1867 by Archbishop John Bede Polding and the Sisters of the Good Samaritan of the Order of Saint Benedict. Rosebank College has a proud tradition of providing a quality education to young women, and in 2012 opened its doors to educating young men. The school encourages its students to live by Benedictine values of peace, a love of Christ, stewardship, hospitality, compassion and service. As part of the celebrations the school held a mass in recognition of the humble and selfless women of the Sisters of the Good Samaritan—in particular, the work undertaken by Mother Agatha Cassidy and Mother Scholastica Gibbons. It is wonderful to see that this coeducational school has women at the heart of its teaching. I congratulate Rosebank College, its staff, students and parents on this very important milestone.
