It's the offer you can refuse but which doesn't seem to go away.
Hollie Adamson reckons her family has had at least 10 telephone approaches in the past fortnight.
"A Chinese developer is interested in buying your house, can […] we make you an offer?" she says, recalling one approach from an intermediary.
Mrs Adamson has nearly finished extensive renovations at her Concord home and does not want to sell. But neither that, nor the absence of a letterbox during renovations, has deterred offers, which have even come in over the back fence in envelopes.
