Member for Strathfield, Jodi McKay, will support Strathfield South Public School and Planet Ark by participating in their National Tree Day event, marking the 20th anniversary of the much-loved campaign.
“This special anniversary of National Tree Day is a timely opportunity to connect with the community, reflect on what’s been achieved through plantings in our neighbourhood and continue to care for our local environment,” said Jodi
Strathfield South Public School Deputy Principal, Joanne Fair, and 40 students from Kindergarten to year 6 will be out in force on Friday afternoon planting 12 native shrubs at the front of the school. The children are already busy preparing the area and making decisions about tree selection and arrangement.
National Tree Day is Australia’s largest tree-planting and nature care event. This year National Tree Day’s theme, “You Can Grow So Much”, focuses on the wealth of opportunities engaging with nature brings to individuals, communities and the environment.
