A passion for representing people and the community without fear or favour is what drives me as the Member for Strathfield.
I want to change the way in which politics is done in NSW, and importantly change people’s perception of the political process. It means rebuilding trust in a system that can lose sight of its purpose. It’s about reaching out to those who are often overlooked and are without a political voice. It means talking and listening to the electorate and ensuring your concerns are heard in Parliament.
Being the Member for Strathfield is a privilege that inspires me each and every day.
Jodi speaks on a wide range of issues in Parliament and the news. Most will be shown on this page as well as pages across our site. However, you can review all parliamentary speeches and announcements also directly in the Hansard (official record).

How can I help
As your local Member of Parliament, it's my job to ensure your voice is heard in the New South Wales Parliament. When parliament isn't sitting I'm in our community resolving problems, fighting for projects and making representations to the Premier and Ministers on your behalf. I’m also attending school and community group events and holding mobile offices.
For most issues, my staff will be able to assist you without you needing to come into our office. If you do need an appointment please call (02) 9747 1711 or email Strathfield@parliament.nsw.gov.au. Remember to bring any paperwork or evidence of the issue you're dealing with as well as a covering letter explaining the situation.

Jodi brings experience, warmth and enthusiasm to her role as Member for Strathfield.
Raised in country NSW, Jodi was a journalist before moving into corporate communications. She was first elected to Parliament in 2007 and quickly rose to hold several Ministerial portfolios including Tourism, Women, Commerce, Small Business and Science and Medical Research. Jodi made a decision to return to politics in 2015 after appearing before the Independent Commission Against Corruption where she learned that her opponents sought to secretly influence the outcome of the election. She refused political bribes from developers. Her refusal to play their game came at a huge price for Jodi personally and professionally.
Before returning to politics, Jodi held several executive and non-executive roles in leading not-for-profit health, science and research organisations, She has a Master of Public Administration from the University of Sydney and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute for Company Directors.
Jodi lives in Ashfield where her husband Stephen has lived for almost two decades. Jodi is passionate about the inner west and works tirelessly to provide a strong local voice for our interests and concerns.
Jodi is the Leader of the Opposition in NSW and Shadow Minister for Multiculturalism and brings a strong and experienced voice to the NSW Parliament that is respected and listened to by all sides.
Strathfield is a dynamic and diverse community that represents the very best of the Inner West with its residents drawn from the four corners of the globe.

While Strathfield is blessed with an abundance of quality schools, sporting and cultural offerings, we need to work hard to ensure this lifestyle is preserved, enriched and bequeathed to future generations.
